Women as the Breadwinner: Are There Consequences?

December 14, 2010 by Andrea

A study finds, In nearly one-third of marriages, the wife is better educated than her husband, and in 22% of couples, she’s also the primary bread winner. Women and The Divorce Curse is actually the title of this segment. I will admit, I was instantly turned off when I saw it. However, I still watched. I’m glad I did, It is worth watching.

I really believe a great takeaway from this is the fact that communication is still the key. Money is often a huge contributing factor in a relationships demise. It’s always a great idea to continue to be honest with your mate when it comes to your needs and wants. Do not let Money regardless of who is making more be the straw that breaks the camels back.

As noted, the title of the tv clip doesn’t nearly do justice to the excellent content. The insights shared by the 2 experts that were interviewed are to the point and right on target.

Given today’s improving economic realities for many women, successful relationships are still about communicating, meeting one another’s needs and willingness to review and adjust one’s expectations.
